What we do
We host dedicated Apple silicon Mac minis and Mac Studios in two secure datacentres on the south coast of the UK. Every machine is physical hardware reserved for a single customer — never virtualised, never shared — with its own public IPv4, unlimited bandwidth, root access, nightly configuration snapshots and monitoring around the clock.
People run their local LLMs on us, build iOS apps, hammer CI runners, and cluster Thunderbolt 5 machines with RDMA over private meshes. We handle the racks, the power, the network and the fragile bits; you get a Mac that's always on.
How it's organised
- Two south-coast UK datacentres, UPS-backed power, business internet, monitored 24/7 — we get paged before you do.
- Hive Classic — current-generation machines in the hive now (M1 through M4 Pro minis, M4 Max and M3 Ultra Studios).
- Hive Latest — the next generation (M6 and M5 Pro minis, M5 Max and M5 Ultra Studios), arriving from 22 September 2026. You can reserve now; nothing is charged until your Mac is racked and online.
- Clustering — up to four Thunderbolt 5 Macs meshed with RDMA over Thunderbolt 5 on a private, isolated network. Included on Studio tiers.
- Colocation — bring your own Mac and we'll rack and look after it.
The company
MacHive is operated by Gekko I.T Ltd, an IT company based in Brighton. We've spent years keeping other people's infrastructure alive — servers, networks, the boring stuff — and MacHive is that same care applied to Apple silicon: a small fleet of real Macs, properly looked after.
